At the Richardson Communications Center, students have access to an interactive multimedia lab, two television stations with control rooms, and the students for KRTU-FM - which is not only the campus radio station, but also 圣安东尼奥's largest outlet for jazz music. TigerTV is 赌博娱乐平台网址大全's 24/7 campus television station, operating within the Dep艺术ment of Communication. TigerTV is an "in-house internship" opportunity that provides important additions to graduates' resumes and portfolios, no matter what their career path.

In 2010, TigerTV unveiled its renovated digital HD facilities. 新, state-of-the 艺术 studios include broadcast quality high-definition video 生产 and recording equipment and an enlarged 生产 control facility. The studio supports up to five HD cameras and has a new 20-foot green-screen wall, as well as the latest DMX lighting systems. A satellite newsroom area includes two robotic HD cameras and a standard-definition interview area. A new satellite dish and arrangement with CNN allows students to access CNN news feeds for broadcast.
Whether it's writing, directing, camera work, technical work, or on-camera talent, TigerTV allows students a broad range of experiential opportunities. Our student-produced programs include "新闻wave," a thirty-minute live broadcast news program; "Studio 21," a music and entertainment news program; and "The Not So Late Show," a talk and comedy program. 圣安东尼奥's Time Warner cable system carries TigerTV on cable channel 98.
KRTU 91.7 FM is 赌博娱乐平台网址大全's FCC-licensed, professional radio station, 广播 since 1976. It is noncommercial and listener supported, with formats that include: jazz and indie/alternative rock. All formats are programmed, hosted and managed by 赌博娱乐平台网址大全 University students under supervision of KRTU's professional staff.
The station offers an exciting opportunity for students to become involved in professional 广播. One-hour apprenticeships courses in radio hosting, 生产, 发展, and 管理 help students learn what it takes to work for and manage a professional media outlet. Interested and committed students also may explore opportunities for internships and paid 管理 positions.
In 2007, KRTU joined the first wave of radio stations in the country to begin 广播 in HD digital audio. The conversion to the new format was made possible through a technology grant provided by the AT&T基础. What st艺术ed as a strictly volunteer lab is now a highly-active media outlet that ties professional staff with community volunteers and students working as interns, managers and on-air hosts.
KRTU broadcasts are available across the 圣安东尼奥 area in high definition and worldwide via the Web. Popular shows include "The Blue Note Hour," "The Latin Jazz Brunch,“爵士之声。," "The Diggin' Deep Soul Shakedown" and "The Blues Review."
